We’re facing an uncertain new world—one that was completely unexpected and completely unplanned. And in this uncertain new world, we’re all doing the best we can in order not just to survive but thrive. Creativity can be both nourished and suffocated by a long lockdown. A supposed historical example is William Shakespeare who apparently wrote King Lear—one of his most famous and incredible works—while under a lockdown to stop the spread of the pestilence called the Bubonic Plague.
In an effort to show how creative these uncertain times can make us, Mission Winnow collaborated with a group of artists to present Stay Art Home Open Mic, an initiative to create and showcase their work—remotely of course—and discuss the challenges of creativity within the same four-walled space every day.
We’re proud of this collaboration and the incredible effort that went into each of the artist’s creative endeavors, and are pleased to share them with you.
